When Friends Health Connection decided to bring Dr. Andrew Weil's national lecture tour to Boston, MA they chose to stage it in a "Town Hall" style format. No venue suits this theme better then Boston's historic Faneuil Hall.
This national historic building introduces several challenges to production. First, the large "Great Hall" with its 3 sided full balconies is a very open, and reverberant space. Second, being a significant part of American History, the building has restrictions designed to protect the property from damage. Equipment placement, power, and other factors had to be carefully considered.
Zasco Productions chose to implement a distributed system of 10 powered 2-way loudspeakers. Precise placement was calculated, and the system time-aligned to ensure quality, highly intelligible sound in every area of the venue. The speakers proved to be an excellent choice due to their low power consumption, and compact size. They also eliminated the need for amplifier racks in the very limited space available with a full audience in the Hall.
