Supporting this year’s campaign theme of “Unite Today. Live Stronger Tomorrow,” this video 5 ½ minute video produced by Zasco Productions demonstrates how the United Way makes a community impact in several areas.
Four people are featured in the 5 ½ minute video: Mark Hebert, president of Machinists Union Local 743; Alan J. Ingram, superintendent of Springfield Public Schools; Portia Allen, a community volunteer; and Christine Daniels, a division assistant with the UWPV.
Each describes how the United Way makes a difference by connecting resources to community needs and measures and tracks the outcomes of charitable donations.
In the midst of its 2009 campaign, the UWPV is building a new mission to unite and focus the communities it serves in creating measurable results.
“The video is really about people – that together, our strength is in our numbers,” said Dora Robinson, UWPV president and chief executive officer. “It explains how all our programs and all our community partners – collectively -- help people.”
The video also encourages people to make a difference – not just by giving but also by advocating and by volunteering.
“We are no longer just a fund-raising organization,” said Robinson. “We are focusing our efforts with an emphasis on education, health and financial stability – to work towards positive outcomes in our programs.”
The video was produced by Debra Foley of the UWPV’s Communications Office and developed by Zasco Productions L.L.C. of Chicopee.
