Once again for 2011, Springfield Technical Community College elected to hold their commencement at the Mass Mutual Center Arena and Zasco Productions was chosen as the integrated turn-key production contractor for the event.
2011 was the 14th consecutive year that STCC has chosen Zasco Productions to provide services for Commencement. In fact, Zasco Productions helped pioneer this production concept with STCC in 1997, for the 30th Anniversary of the College, and has continued to build upon that foundation over the past 14 years.
This year, we provided concept to completion production services ranging from design and drafting, to providing the production equipment and crew for the event.
The backdrop for the stage was a simple black velour curtain with lighting effects. LED illuminated translucent scenic panels provided a background for the lectern, and provided separation and definition for the video camera shots. The stage was flanked by two 15'x20' screens which were rear-projected using 10,000 lumen large-venue video projectors.
Our 3-camera "I-MAG" production was displayed live on the screens, which allowed every member of the audience to see the entire ceremony clearly, and provided a spectacular close-up shot of each and every graduate as their name was called.
Video switching was accomplished using our Panasonic AV-HS400 HD production switcher, while all video distribution was done exclusively using HD-SDI, maintaining a full resolution digital signal throughout the system.
Crystal clear, highly intelligible sound for both the arena and stage was provided using the latest EAW line-array loudspeaker technology. Extensive planning, and engineering of the system enabled us to deliver exceptional sound reinforcement in this large, and very reverberant space.
We congratulate the Class of 2011, and thank STCC for entrusting the Commencement Ceremony to Zasco Productions for the past 14 years.
