Zasco Productions staff is a reliable, highly trained, experienced and professional production team who make event production their career and passion. Our core staff of 5 full-time employees lead and manage every aspect of the productions we handle.
In addition to our full time staff, we maintain a part-time staff of over 12 employees who support our operations with their dedication and talents.
Finally, by maintaining a relationship with a large group of freelance individuals, local labor companies, and unions, we can also call upon the specialized talent and labor we need for your specific project and location.

Michael W. Zaskey Founder, President / Owner and Senior Technical Director

Adam J. Lawson, CTS Operations Manager / Video Director
Adam grew up in Enfield, CT and graduated from Asnuntuck Community College with a degree in communications. In college he worked as the theater technical director and a radio personality. He then worked as an installer for Tweeter, before moving on to start his own installation business. Adam was introduced to us by one of our associates in 2003, and it was immediately clear that he would be a perfect fit for Zasco Productions. At that time, he started out as a part time camera operator, and multi-skilled AV tech. In 2007 Adam joined us full-time, and in 2010 was promoted to Operations Manager and Video Director.

At Zasco Productions, Adam takes care of day to day business such as logistics and purchasing- scheduling equipment, crew and transportation resources, as well as ordering new equipment and supplies. He also helps to keep our shop running smoothly- managing inventory, rentals, and maintenance. Always eager to help out wherever needed, his responsibilities also include sales, estimating, and project management. In our video production department, Adam is also our lead digital non-linear editor and he cuts most of our video production projects together.
On show site, Adam is most often found leading the video department- handling setup and operation of video projection, display, production, switching, and distribution equipment. He also is a skilled audio system tech, and also serves as a production electrician in our lighting department. He recently completed a 2-day technical training seminar on the Wholehog 3 control system and continues to expand his skill-set in lighting. With an excellent understanding of system integration, operation, and troubleshooting, Adam just “gets it” when it comes to all things technical.
In our installation department, Adam feels right at home, and he can design, build, and program, the most complex systems with ease.
He has an excellent memory, and always knows where to find things. Combine these skills with a remarkable character and easy disposition, and you'll know why we are proud to have Adam in the mix. We should also mention that he is extraordinarily punctual. Chances are -- if Zasco Productions is on the job, Adam will be there earlier than everyone else.
Adam earned his CTS Certification from InfoComm International in April of 2012. The Certified Technology Specialist (CTS®) credential is for audiovisual professionals who have demonstrated extensive knowledge of the technology used in audio, video and display systems, and a competence, dedication and commitment to their profession.
Outside of work, Adam lives in Vernon, CT with his wife Lisi. Together they are proud parents of a son, Nehemiah, born in October of 2009, and a daughter, Jewel, born in April 2011. He enjoys music, traveling, working on his house, and dreaming of moving to Vermont and living in a secluded cabin. He also serves as head audio engineer at his church.

Keith A. Payer Audio System Tech / Multi-skilled Production Technician
Keith is a native of Enfield, CT and graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in 1990. He attended A.I. Prince Tech in Hartford, CT as well as Howell Cheeney Tech in Manchester, CT. He was then an electrical apprentice learning his trade in a construction environment. From there, he moved on to the world of low voltage specializing in data and communications systems. Later, he worked for a major corporation running their "telephone switch room” and then worked as an installer at Tweeter, before starting his own installation business. In 2007 Keith joined Zasco Productions as a shop technician, truck-driver, and production assistant. Since that time, Keith has taken on the expanded roll of a multi-skilled production technician with a focus on being our audio system tech.

Day to day at Zasco Productions, Keith works in our shop where he uses his incredible mechanical aptitude to handle most of our in-house mechanical and electrical fabrications, and repairs. He also prepares equipment for rentals and productions, and assists with maintenance of our facilities and vehicles.
On show site, you can most often find Keith serving as an audio system tech. In the sound department Keith assembles and flies loudspeaker arrays, interconnects amplifiers and related equipment, lays out and sets up microphones, monitor speakers, and related cabling, sets up and interconnects communications systems and ensures that the audio system is setup per our audio engineer’s or client’s specifications. Keith is also cross-trained and often serves as a carpenter in our scenic and staging department, production electrician in our lighting department, and a video projectionist and camera operator in our video department. He also serves as our lead truck driver and often starts his day ensuring the safe and timely arrival of our vehicles, as well as directing the unloading / loading of our trucks.
In our installation department, Keith uses his experience to install systems of all types, and no challenge is too big for him to tackle.
Keith has an easygoing personality, believes in 100% customer satisfaction, and is committed to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. As he continues develop his skills in all areas production, we are excited to see him grow as a true multi-talented and multi-skilled member of our team.
Outside of Zasco Productions he is an avid football fan, and plays organized football. He lives in Enfield, CT with his wife Carrie and two sons Aiden and Jackson. He loves to spend any extra time with his boys.

Edward C. McKinney Engineer / Multi-skilled Production Technician
Ed McKinney has been around Zasco Productions for 20+ years…since it was an idea in a basement! His experience began during his childhood years, where a fascination with electronics laid the foundation for a lifelong passion and career. Ed gained experience doing lighting and sound for the theater in high school, as well as working for a local cable television operator on public access, government, and local origination broadcasts. He graduated from Springfield Technical Community College with a degree in Telecommunications, then went on to a career in television working at the local ABC affiliate as a master control operator, tape operator, studio tech, and finally a broadcast engineer. Ed was one of our first part-time employees, and continues to this day as a key member of our engineering and live event production department.

At Zasco Productions, Ed’s skills in designing and building electronics and computer systems are put to good use, as he is responsible for building and programming many of the custom interfaces and control systems that we use and supply. Ed also handles the design, engineering, and drafting of documents and plans for our video, audio, and communications systems. In addition, he is our chief bench technician, where his patience and steady hands perform most of our audio and video equipment repairs with ease.
On show site, Ed generally serves as our video engineer- deploying cameras, switchers, projectors, displays, and related equipment. He uses his exceptional attention to detail, and passion for documentation to ensure that all video systems are setup according to accepted broadcast standards, and our client’s specifications. No audio, video, communications, or lighting system is outside of his prevue, and he is often seen making sure all departments systems are setup and functioning with a high degree of precision and technical integrity. Also a true “multi-skilled” technician Ed can easily be comfortable working as a camera operator, playback operator, audio system tech, and production electrician.
Outside of work, Ed enjoys science fiction, movies, browsing the web, computer programming, electronics, and learning new things. He lives in Springfield, MA.

Stephen D. Potvin Lighting Technician / Multi-skilled Production Technician
Steve Potvin was born and raised in Wilbraham, MA and brings us years of theater, lighting, broadcast television and audio / visual experience. He discovered his love for artistic performance, media, and technology at a very young age through involvement with community theater and electronics classes. Steve's video / broadcast career began at the local ABC affiliate where he worked as a studio tech, ENG videographer, live-truck operator, and lighting designer. In the late 1990’s, he began work as a part-time employee of Zasco Productions where he expanded his skills into event staging, audio reinforcement, video projection, digital editing, and more. Steve continued his broadcast career at a major sports network, where he won Emmy awards for outstanding studio teamwork and studio camera work. After working there for several years, Steve decided to make Zasco Productions his full-time career in 2005.

Along the way, Steve has provided lighting for many events ranging from simple meetings and banquets, to major concerts and theatrical events. He also toured nationally with a musical as their head audio engineer. Today, Steve serves as Lighting Director and Multi-Skilled Technician at Zasco Productions.
Day to day, Steve heads our lighting department and is responsible for the conceptualization, design, drafting, and execution of all our lighting projects. In addition he manages our lighting and rigging inventory, and is an exceptional bench technician handling many of our electronics maintenance and repair tasks, especially when it comes to LED, intelligent and conventional lighting equipment. Steve also helps out in the shop assembling production systems, preparing new equipment for deployment, and managing and maintaining existing inventory.
On show site, Steve can most often be found working as our Lighting Director and Head Electrician. His responsibilities include laying out and assembling truss and rigging equipment, interconnecting dimmers, electrical power distribution, and control systems, setting up and focusing lights as well as programming and operating lighting consoles. Steve is passionate about achieving exceptional results in the illumination of events and broadcasts of all types. In addition, Steve is the true definition of “multi-skilled”, and he can easily work in all departments at Zasco Productions. He is a superb camera operator, and video projectionist, as well as a talented audio engineer.
In our video production department, Steve is a skilled lighting director and videographer, and he illuminates most of our video productions.
Steve has an outgoing personality, and a heart of gold. He is always willing to lend a hand, and is motivated to make each and every production he touches meet our high standards for excellence, technical integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys camping, hiking, whitewater rafting, photography, renewable energy, and open source computing. He is still a member of the community theater group he got started with over 15 years ago, and is an active amateur radio license holder. Steve lives in Wilbraham, MA.

Barry T. Gadbois Associate Video Director / Multi-skilled Production Technician
Barry brings to us a diverse range of talents, from broadcast television production to large scale audio-visual presentations. His experience includes broadcast operations, news videography, television / video direction, and satellite / microwave truck operation. Barry started part-time work at Zasco Productions in 2000, while working for various local broadcast entities. He then went on to a career as a video technician for a defense contractor on the west-coast, and after returning to the Massachusetts in 2005 to pursue a career in broadcast television, Barry re-joined our part-time staff.

On show site, Barry most often serves as a Video director or Video engineer, but also feels right at home working a Multi-skilled Production Technician or as a Project Manager.
Barry has an outgoing personality, and a calm, cool demeanor. He faces the toughest production challenges head-on, and is always ready to do whatever is necessary to ensure the success of a production.
Barry lives in Worcester, MA with his fiancée Katie. Outside of work, Barry enjoys writing, and is a published author.

The father of Michael Zaskey, and the person most instrumental in supporting the early success of Zasco Productions, Mr. Zaskey generously gave of his time, talents, and money to help Michael establish his dream. Throughout the years he has worked as a business advisor, camera operator, driver, and more, helping out in any area that he could. Most importantly, he is the person who believed that Zasco Productions could be a reality, and never gave up helping to make that happen! Affectionately called "Dad" by the entire Zasco team, he is now most often seen running errands or providing production support on major projects.
