Based on the success of their 70th Anniversary Celebration held in 2006 (which Zasco Productions also helped stage), Big Y Foods, one of the largest largest independently-owned supermarket chains in New England celebrated 75 Years in business in grand style in 2011. Once again, Zasco Productions provided the technical and creative magic behind their Gala Celebration for 1500 people.

A unique element of this event was the set, which was a replica of the company’s first storefront. Working along with Big Y’s in-house carpentry shop who built the original replica, Zasco Productions designed a “streetscape” to complete the scene, and integrate with the various production elements.

From the beginning of the planning process, our client wanted to re-create the 70th Anniversary Event, but make it even better. Building upon the existing designs, we developed CAD drawings and 3D renderings showing our proposed improvements and new design elements. These assisted our client during the decision making process, and helped visualize what the event could look like in the space.

Once approved, Zasco Productions generated detailed construction documents for Big Y’s in-house carpentry shop, who helped fabricate much of the scenic streetscape used in the production.

Our team and drawings also assisted in reviewing the proposed plan with the venue operations staff, catering staff, and public safety staff, to verify that every aspect
of project could be successfully and safely executed in the space.

A look at our artist’s rendering and a photo of the actual event show that once again, Zasco Productions delivered technical and creative excellence!
